Another lashing by Mother Nature. She is not a fan of golf the last two years.

Our challenge is cleaning up. We cannot even begin our normal course maintenance routine until each surface has been cleared of debris.

We are up to her challenge. 52 MPH winds, lightening and 0.42" of rain seems like old-hat to us now.

We are installing a major drain across 18 fairway to a sump in front of #1 tee. This drainage project will allow us to properly drain the new tees and practice green this fall. Accomplishing the major drain now allows us to be completed on the fairway surface which will be seeded on August 15.

We continue to add wildflower mix to the wooded areas. And our efforts are starting to show!

This year we expanded our program. We expect a better "show" each year.

One of the most important jobs of the year is when our boys jump in and clean the bottom of the ditch. Obviously, the ditch carries excess water off of the golf course and surrounding properties. Without an annual cleanup, the ditch's ability to carry water would be quite diminished. Thank you, boys!!

A large area material handler allows us to sand topdress fairways. Our goal is to evenly spread 200 tons over 24 acres, six-eight times per year.

The process helps to reduce thatch accumulation, firm and smooth the surface. And over time will keep the top of the rootzone porous and dry.
