This week we have an outside contractor, XGD Systems, installing drainage. The new drainage system will be installed into #13 green. Attached is a condensed YouTube video of the process. Thanks to Jim Campion at NCR Country Club for letting me share his work.

Our 13th hole will use a temporary hole location Thursday and Friday while the process is complete. But the golf course will be open and it's usual beautiful self.

I can't remember the last time we had a slow, all-day rain. We applied a soil conditioner that requires additional water to move down into the soil profile. Yes, we really are sprinkling on a rainy day!!

In this short video, Jesus demonstrates how to turn his greensmower. We use plastic landscape lattice to protect the collars from the mechanic wear of mowing greens.

With less than 10% of normal June rainfall, to date. Our efforts to keep the golf course playable, and alive, require more precise measures than machines can provide.

Here our crew applies water to only those small spots that need it. Leaving nearby moist areas untouched.

We opened the new practice putting green this morning. The green continues to mature and will continue to get better and better. But it will be months until it behaves exactly like the mature greens on the golf course.

Happy Memorial Day!

I am evaluating a new product on 14 fairway. Apparently it's not one we want to incorporate into the program.

The fairway should begin to bounce back with cooler temperatures next week.

Adelberto Martinez is currently out deep tining the new fairways. This process allows for a healthy exchange of gases and aids in water infiltration. All with a very limited disruption to the playing surface.

Hi Folks!

The golden rule in golf is to leave the course better than you found it. Please rake your bunkers, repair two pitch marks on each green, replace your divots and use garbage receptacles.

The player behind you, thanks you for your course courtesy.

One of the first and most important jobs of each spring is cleaning debris from the ditch. A years worth of leaves, sticks and other organic matter is hand shoveled to allow for maximum drainage and water flow. A tough job indeed.

Aaron Becker, our Second Assistant, has been leading the roofing and siding job on the golf course shelters. A great winter job, when winters are like the one we are experiencing this year.

Our winter work includes Jim Connor restoring these ten year old greens mowers. Jim & Fernando are going through every piece of each mower and matching everything to factory specifications. Amazing work by two amazing guys. We are looking forward to seeing the finished products.
